Use these all over our sailboat & have never seen slippage. Use them on heavy duty tarps with 40 mph winds making the tarp flap like crazy & no problem. The teeth are not sharp & do not wear or cut into the lines/cord/rope either.

These are great! I set up hassle free and fast. I can adjust them or attach them in a hurry for the wind/weather. The performed flawlessly on my trip and held the ties even in a strong wind during a thunderstorm. The plastic ones perform as well as the metal for me. I have only a couple of suggestions. 1. The need to be in colors or reflective to be easily seen. If I drop one on the trail, it is a bugger to find it. I got red ones inluded with my Kelty Noah's Tarp. So I know they can come in colors. So a bright color would help for these small items. 2. I wish I could by an extra set without buying the cord. I can only find the metal ones at $2.50 each or a set of 4 plastic ones with relfective cord for $10. I have enough cord and more is a waste.

the Figure 9 small is the best way to tie down the tent lines that I have ever seen. Just attache on end to the line and loop the line around stake pull back to figure the bottom of figure nine and loop, pull tight and put line with the locking teeth. Then when you are ready to leave, pull out line from teeth and you are done. No knots to untie and it never comes loose, plus figure nine is now attached to line for next use. I love it!!!
